Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary has a history spanning more than 170 years. Founded in 1832 by Most Reverend Francis P. Kenrick, third Bishop of Philadelphia, the initial location of Saint Charles Seminary was at the home of Bishop Kenrick on Fifth Street in Philadelphia. Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, prepares men for ordination to the Roman Catholic Priesthood, unifies a college and theology program, integrates intellectual, pastoral, spiritual and human formation, offers a graduate program in Religious Studies to laity for ministry.
