East Greenville is a borough, part of the Upper Perkiomen School District and is one of the small towns along Pennsylvania route 29.
The population was 2,951 at the 2010 census, 93.7% White, 2.3% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 1.0% Asian, and 1.9% were two or more races. 3.3% of the population were of Hispanic or Latino ancestry
The borough got its name from large evergreen trees in the northern part of the borough. Originally the name Greenville was proposed, but when the borough proposed establishing a post office, it was learned that Greenville existed in western Pennsylvania. So the name became East Greenville.
